The Annual Show & Sale of the Black Welsh Mountain Sheep Breeder's Association at Abergavenny produced a top price of 500gns.
The 1st prize 2yo ram was shown by Mr & Mrs R Wise, Bracknell, Berks and taken by E O Williams, Talybont on Usk, Brecon.
Next best call at 480gns was for a shearling ram from Will Workman, Trecastle, Brecon, this was purchased by D Cleverdon, Llandrindod Wells.
S-J, D & G Jones, Camrose, Pembs sold their 6th prize ram lamb at 450gns to J Griffiths, Newport, Gwent.
Will Workman also sold his 2nd prize ram lamb at 430gns to D Edwards, Llanwrda. Two other ram lambs sold at 400gns a piece, from Mrs P Laws and D & R Rowlands, selling to M D & T J Evans, Pontrilas & M Price, Upper Chapel, Brecon respectively.
The 1st prize shearling ram from W N Pugh, Johnston, Haverfordwest sold at 400gns to Mrs S M Davis, Knighton, Powys. The 1st prize ram lamb & Male Champion was shown by E Hendrie, Talgarth, Brecon and sold at 360gns to D Lewis, Pumpsaint, Carms.
Amongst a strong entry of females the championship was awarded to the 1st prize pair of shearling ewes from D & R Rowlands, Gaerwen, Anglesey which sold at 220gns a piece to the Judge, Mrs P Laws.
The 2nd prize pair of shearlings from E D Williams, Pentyrch, Cardiff, sold at 120gns a piece to M D & T J Evans.
The ewe lamb class winners & reserve female champions also came from E D Williams and sold to C Hughes, Cwmyoy, Abergavenny, with the 2nd prize pair from S-J, D & G Jones selling form 85gns a piece to L Cox, Abergavenny.
