There will be another new points award for 2023, this time focused on our younger members.
It will be open to BWMSBA Junior members, both those who have their own flocks and also to those who don’t but are involved with parents or family flocks. All sheep being shown must be in the ownership of currently paid up BWMSBA members.
The aim of the competition is to encourage the next generation to have a go and to feel an active part of the BWMSBA. Points can be gained by being placed, 1st (3 points), 2nd (2 points) or 3rd (1 point), in classes for breeding ewes, shearling ewes, ewe lambs and ram lambs. A points card will be produced nearer the time in order for competitors to keep track of their results.
Qualifying shows are as follows: Eglwysbach, Cerrigydrudion, Llanbrynmair (double points), Beulah (double points), Chepstow and Trecastle YFC. The points will be totted up at the end of the season, with the winner being presented with a trophy and £100, with two runners up prizes of £50 and a memento.
